Homemade Projector Screen - The Principle & How to Diy

Projector screens are ordinarily divided into two types base on their functionalities: reflection projector screen and transmission projector screen. It can be also divided into soft and hard screen base on the materials they are made from.

Home theater ordinarily uses soft reflection screen. My brother-in-law originally wanted to buy a ¥1000 (~0) so-called "import screen", but a friend of his who sells projector screens told him that it is hard nowadays (in China) to distinguish the genuineness of an import screen, it is hard even for himself. Some of them that are labeled with 'import' or 'joint capital' were literally manufactured somewhere in the south of China. He felt that he'd rather to buy a ¥300 domestically manufactured screen with good feelings than buy this kind of "import screen". What this friend said makes exquisite sense. But after doing some research, my brother-in-law found that all screens on the local market are made from high gain Bolivian bead that is used for projecting newspaper clips, they are naturally not convenient for video frequency.

Fisher Price Camera

Theoretically speaking, a white wall with one flat side literally is the best "screen". Because its gain is 1, meaning that the light projected can be wholly reflected out, which is an ideal state of being "no absorption, no gain". Unfortunately, for the purpose of thoughprovoking and proliferating the sound wave, he already made the wall a background wall with sound-absorbing material and plywood installed. Production it impossible to serve as a "projector screen', he had to find an additional one solution.

You might be wondering at this point: why do habitancy still bother purchasing costly screens if we can all use white walls?

Well, there are all the time benefits and advantages of using a professional screen: convenient, artistically gorgeous and dignified, good screen can also make up the scantness of a projector and enhance visual effect. Among the costly screens, one type is "gray screen" (cost about ¥15,000, practically 00). This kind of screen probably was originally designed for liquid crystal projectors. The biggest qoute with liquid crystal projector is that the color appears dark and grey, insufficiently calm. This is its "congenital defect" that is caused by its liquid crystal board and path of rays.

Regarding gray screen, we all know that gray is merely a lighter black, and black absorbs all visible light. Gray can only partially suck in visible light, it is like radiance of the photograph is reduced. If you have used any photograph processing software's "brightness / distinction gradient" option, you should literally have noticed such phenomenon that reducing radiance is equivalent to expanding distinction gradient? Same concept, since the radiance has been reduced, it in turn increased its distinction gradient. The black consequent gets improved due to the bigger contrast. We can also contact the same consequent when we look out straight through the sunshade glass of our car. In fact, there are many ways to just sell out the brightness, you don't have to use gray screen. There are magazines recommending putting the light gray filter of a photographic camera to the corner lens, the principle is the same. You can even use more simpler method, namely you need to adjust the projector's output radiance or increase the distinction gradient. No need to spend a cent, you may achieve the similar effect, but the factory is that showroom must be dark enough.

Back to the lowest line, if a gray projector screen cost you 00, assuredly it is not just because the screen color is changed from white to gray. Speaking from the visual principle, I'm afraid there's a lot more behind. I'm guessing probably inevitable chemical compositions have been added to the material of the screen that changed the reflection or absorption intensity of separate wavelength of light, thus changed the luster and the distinction gradient of the whole image, that, makes up the inborn flaw of liquid crystal board after all. In expanding to this, what other tricks do you think they can play? It doesn't seem to be potential with the meager knowledge of physics that I have.

It sounds more like it to throw in a ¥150,000 screen if your projector cost you ¥15,000. But adding a ¥15,000 screen to a ¥15,000 projector doesn't make much sense at all. If I have to buy a ¥15,000 screen, then it would naturally work good if I put the money together and buy a ¥30,000 higher level projector to achieve good consequent without any extra effort. A ¥15,000 screen is a crazy price to my brother-in-law (imagine his monthly earnings is merely ¥3000). Also if he buys a name brand Japanese gray screen, then he literally spend most of the money to pay for the labor which he personally doesn't feel comfortable.

The ideal screen for the Dlp projector that my brother-in-law purchased should be like a white wall, just let the scheme light reflected wholly without any "reservation". He figured that he literally didn't need such precious screen. So he ultimately decided to make one on his own.

Exactly how did he do it? You may not believe how simple and reasonable it literally was! He spent a bit over ¥10 (about .50) in a home decorating store on a self-adhesive pure white matted formica Pvc panel with dim grains, cut the right size, pasted to his original background wall, that is it, flat and smooth! With such Pvc screen, he doesn't need to worry about the 'curl-up' phenomenon that may occur to a regular projector screen after around 12 years of use, he also doesn't need to worry that it would turn yellow one day due to natural oxidation. But remember it requires some pasting techniques to make it work perfectly for you. The result? Great!

Here are integrate of self-made projector screen photos from my brother-in-law as 'evidence':

Headphone Guide - comprehension different Designs and Cords

Buying headphones can be a confusing decision with so many kinds to pick from, let alone understand. If you've ever wondered at some of the terms used or what the advantages of each type are, read on.

We'll get into seminar of major headphone designs and even cord facts below, but first there are two items that bear mentioning to better understand what follows. First, since air pressure plays a big role in how we hear, a headphone's seal is prominent in the way they will sound. Second, headphones at the most basic level come in two designs: open and closed. What this means essentially is that a headphone is whether sealed off from the covering or vented to allow air (and sound) to pass freely.

Fisher Price Camera

Open vs. Fulfilled, Design

Generally open headphone designs are described as being more "natural" sounding, but this can come with drawbacks. Everything going on in the room nearby you will intrude on your music. This can occasionally be useful, but is often a hindrance that requires turning the volume up higher. Also, your music leaks out just as easily, which can bother others nearby if the area is otherwise quiet.

Closed headphones on the other hand offer a much more intimate listening perceive and are nearly silent to those nearby you. The one disadvantage compared to open designs is that the bass can be muddier or inescapable other sound characteristics overly pronounced.

Major Types Of Headphones

Earbuds

These are among the most tasteless headphones in the mass market, largely due to their portability. They are light, easy to shove in a pocket, and fit right in your ear. Earbuds are uncostly and easy to find in any store that sells electronics.

Being this small can come with a cost. The downside of earbuds is that they lack the driver size and the isolation to yield a high-quality listening experience. Models have assorted slightly in size and shape attempting to heighten upon this dilemma, but ultimately it is what it is. A tasteless price ranges for this type is -50.

Earcup/On-Ear

Earcup designs are the other most tasteless type of headphone. Many of the behind-the-head style headphones you see are great examples. These are larger than earbuds, and work by sitting on the ear rather than in it. This larger create allows for a fuller range of sound and better power handling, but still lacks much of a seal in the middle of the ear and headphone. The effect is the loss of detail and bass compared to other types. Still, this create is also uncostly and easy to find, and still pretty portable. Typical price range for this type: -50.

Supra Aural

Supra aural headphones are larger still from the earcup design. They work again by sitting on the ear, but cover the whole ear and generate a better seal by perceive pressure (produced by the headband). This pressure can sometimes be uncomfortable for long listening sessions.

Overall range and detail are improved in this create from earcups, but at the cost of portability. These tend to be bulkier and heavier, but lighter than the circum aural designs we'll discuss in a minute. Essentially, this type of headphone tries to play the middle ground in the middle of earcups and full-size headphones. Even in a Fulfilled, design, however, supra aural headphones will leak sound. These tend to range from -100.

Circum Aural

These are full-size headphones and are as un-portable as they come. They are usually the heaviest and bulkiest type of headphone, but offer some advantages.

Because the pads go nearby the ear, they are typically more comfortable. This method also creates the best seal you'll get other than canalphones, resulting in the ideal dynamic range. Headphones of this size often have large drivers, making them sufficient and able to handle more power without distortion. The size, too, affects range in a inescapable way.

Open designs will still leak music or let milieu in, but the area in the middle of driver and ear still benefits from the seal. Fulfilled, circum aural headphones are ideal in this sense, being nearly silent to whatever nearby and blocking out a great deal of covering noise. Because those that buy this style of headphone are often audio enthusiasts, build potential and price reflect this niche market. Prices tend to vary from -500, though it's not unheard of to see circum aural headphones at 00 or more.

Canalphones or In-Ear-Monitors (Iems)

These are the most recent style of headphone, aiming to bridge the gap in the middle of portability and sound quality. They are as small as earbuds and also go in the ear, but unlike earbuds they go into the ear canal like earplugs. This takes some getting used to for some users.

The major benefit of being inserted into the ear canal is isolation. Canalphones offer all the audible advantages circum aural designs have due to their seal, and can often block out even more covering noise. Because of both the seal and the nearnessy to the inner ear, dynamic range is dramatically improved compared to earbuds. The user will not have to turn the volume up as high and will also appreciate a much greater level of detail in listening as a result.

Though a bit more expensive, canalphones will outperform earbuds sonically in every way, and can prove to be just as portable. Economy models are in the same normal price range as earbuds and earcup headphones. The higher end canalphones, though, can be just as precious as full-size headphones.

Cords

Shapes

There are separate cord designs employed with headphones as well. The simplest disagreement to make is the normal shape the cord makes-in most cases a "Y" or "J". "Y" cords look the letter, wherein a particular seashore comes from the plug end and splits off to associate to each earcup. The "J" design, as it applies to earbuds and canalphones, starts with a particular seashore and splits off. The disagreement from the "Y" cord is in that one side is longer than the other, meant to be wrapped nearby the back of the head and then go to the ear. This relieves some cord tension and makes it harder for the earphone on that side to be pulled out, any way it can also be cumbersome. The third major configuration in cords is a right cord, meaning it comes from the plug all the way up to what is usually the left earphone. It connects there, and the wire for the right side feeds internally through the headband. This is nice in that externally there is only one wire to deal with.

Many high-end headphones will use the "Y" cord rather than the right create so that each side is exactly equal length. At this level, there is a degree of pickiness that insists each side is sonically matched as closely as possible.

Balanced and Unbalanced Cord Setups

You may also hear inescapable headphones being referred to as "balanced". On a quarterly cord, the inescapable line is carried up each side, but one way or another the ground wire becomes shared. Even on a "Y" create where each side has its own wire, the grounds join at the end where the wire terminates into the plug. A balanced create essentially means that each side is thoroughly separate, having its own inescapable and negative wire that never touch the other side. Doing this requires each side have its own plug at the end, which of procedure means you'd need a special output gismo to associate the headphones. Most devices use a stereo plug, whether 1/4" or 1/8".

Why, you ask, would person want a thoroughly separate connection? No matter how clean the association is and how high potential the wire transmitting the signal, two ground signals crossing can always generate interference or noise. This can be difficult to hear, which is why usually only extremely high-end headphones appear in a balanced design. Again, at that level the sensitivity of the headphones themselves and the ears of the audiophile may benefit from a create that minimizes any sort of audible noise whatsoever.

Does using a balanced cord create make a big enough disagreement to bother? This is a topic of moot among audiophiles. Most would agree the disagreement is small, but it remains a matter of view on how prominent that small disagreement is.

Ofc and 7N Cables

Ofc stands for oxygen-free copper. Economy copper wires are more prone to interactivity that can cause noise in the signal. A hiss or small levels of distortion are sometimes observed when using such cables. Higher end cables minimize this interference for the cleanest signal transmission.

Some of the highest end cables are called "seven 9's", or 7N cables. This refers to the estimate of decimal places in the oxygen-free rating. This appears as 99.9999999% oxygen-free. No cable can claim to be 100% free of whatever that would cause interference, but these cables as you'd guess are as close as audibly possible.

On some higher end headphone models users claim that replacing the stock cables with expensive aftermarket ones improves sound potential notably. This, too, is a topic of heavy moot in the audiophile community. Many users insist that silver lined cords have a very separate sound, for example, than copper or gold-tipped wires. Others sound that's all in people's heads. What everybody does agree on is the significance of oxygen-free copper.

Gold-Tipped Plugs - What's That About?

Gold itself is less conducive than copper, which is one of the reasons (the other being price) that the wires themselves are not gold. So then why all the fuss about gold-tipped plugs and adapters? Gold does not tarnish or corrode like copper does, so a partially gold connector or adapter is another way to ensure the cleanest signal transmission over time.

Since the plug of a wire is the only part that contacts air and therefore is susceptible to corrosion, it's the only part that benefits from a gold mixture. Stay away from any expensive cables that claim the whole wire is gold or partially so-you're just throwing your money away for a gimmick.

Conclusion

So that's about it. Hopefully with all this in mind the questions in headphone buying will be a bit easier to understand. There are of procedure still other factors in any audio equipment to consider. This should get you started at least and on your way to making an informed decision when mulling over which pair of headphones are right for you.

Which Digital Camera Is Best for the Kids?

Back when I was a kid, I asked my mom for a camera because, back then, I dreamt of one day becoming a photographer. At first, she didn't want to get me one because she view that it would be a waste of money. She had to get the camera, the film and the batteries for me. But at one point she gave in and got me one for my birthday.

I remember that it was one of those cameras where you had the roll of film inside and I just kept taking picture after picture after picture. When I asked my mom for an additional one roll of film, she got mad at me for wasting the first roll of film. Ever since then, I got the mindset that being a photographer would simply cost too much.

Fisher Price Camera

Are you experiencing the same thing with your child or maybe your niece or nephew? Do you want to encourage him or her but without compromising your budget?

Nowadays, there are these things being artificial that are called the kids' digital camera. These cameras are typically covered in dinky animals and cartoons. They also widely vary in price. But don't get fooled by the colorful exteriors.

Here is the list of qualifications for the camera you're going to purchase.

The first thing that you need to make sure that the camera has is expandable memory. Once you hand the kid the camera, chances are, he is going to go crazy and will want to capture all in the camera of his. So, you have to furnish him with the memory that his eagerness needs.

The second thing that you're going to need is a built-in flash. After the child takes all the pictures that his camera can handle, he may feel a dinky discouraged when he sees the quality of his pictures without the flash. Giving him a camera with a built-in flash will give him good enough pictures that will give him a sense of pride in his work.

The third feature that the camera is going to need is a Usb connection. This is more ideal than the serial connector. The Usb connector is a lot faster when transferring the photos. This is perfect because with children, they commonly want to see things immediately or else, their concentration will be shifted to an additional one thing and forget about photography altogether.

The last foremost feature is the megapixels. With cameras that have low megapixels, the quality of the photos will not be very good. Same as with the cameras that lack the built-in flash, when the child sees that his work wasn't what he expected, this will discourage him.

To additional help you in finding for the perfect kids' digital camera, here are some beloved brands that offer digital cameras specially artificial for kids. There is the Jazz Shockproof Kids Digital Camera that has 3.1 megapixels. Also, Vtech, a beloved brand that produces educational toys for children, also offers a wide range of digital cameras for your children.

Fisher imprint Digital Camera - Choosing A Children's Camera

Digital cameras reach in every size, shape, color, and tag range these days.  Obviously, adults savor the benefits of digital photography, but what about children?   Should a child have a digital camera?   Some experts say that when children remove photographs, they learn to sight the world around them from a different perspective and they sometimes point to enhanced creativity.  As a parent, you'll have the privilege of seeing things from their perspective and may even learn novel things about your child through the pictures they pick with their beget camera.

There are several levels of digital cameras on the market today and several are perfectly fine entry-level models for children preschool age, up to teenagers.  What should a parent contemplate when looking for a digital camera for their child?   Ease of consume, photo quality, automated features and durability are honest a few criteria to think.

A toddler, preschooler, or early elementary child will do well with a basic and sturdy digital camera.  search for for one that is designed for slight hands to grip and fill easily.  Flash and focus features should be completely automatic, and the memory card should absorb several photographs at one time.  Fisher effect makes durable digital cameras specifically for puny ones.  The color LCD veil is 1.3" across so children can immediately notice the represent they honest took and point to it to everyone in the family too.  Children can exhaust this camera like a pair of binoculars with the camera's two-eye viewing feature, which makes it especially fun for them to scout out their next record.  Fisher brand makes these cameras in brilliant colors for added kid appeal too.  There is even a USB cord included with the camera so your child's pictures can easily be transferred to the computer, once again freeing up storage position for more represent adventures.

Children who are between early elementary age and middle school age will savor even an inexpensive digital camera, as long as it takes decent photographs.  leer for a sturdily built digital camera, because children this age often tend to fall things on a regular basis, including cameras.  procure a middle of the road camera that has automated features for the most piece, but allows some control over flash and zoom capabilities.  Some digital cameras for this age include special effects features like clip art and captions and possibly the ability to prefer short movie clips with audio.  Girls in this age range will probably want to accessorize their digital camera with a cute camera case and strap.

By the time your children approach middle school and grow into older teenagers, a digital camera that looks and functions more like an 'adult' camera, can be purchased for a reasonable imprint.  Depending on how mighty your child enjoys taking photos, study for a camera with more advanced features and more control over the zoom and flash features.  They'll likely be taking more photographs at this age, so spy for a digital camera that has expandable memory options available as well.

Whether you utilize $60 or $100, the mark range is reasonable when purchasing a digital camera for your child.  Older children could be encouraged to support effect toward purchasing one themselves.  Younger children might be more willing to complete their chores if they know the money they rep will go toward a digital camera they want.

The splendid news is that digital cameras for children have approach down in note dramatically, so purchasing one for your child, regardless of their age, is within most parents' financial arrive.
